our flock
Our Tractorless Vineyard sheep are the real stars of the vineyard, and you will often see them milling about amongst the vines.
We use Black Faced Hampshire Down sheep and entrust them with the important role of managing our vineyard and groves.
Essentially, our Tractorless sheep are solar powered, fertilising lawn mowers. They undertake weed control and nibble at the leaves and thin out the vine canopy. We regularly rotate the flock to maximise efficiency and to eliminate the need for drenches.
how they help
These friendly sheep do a fantastic job in the vineyards – eating the leaves whilst thoughtfully leaving the grapes behind for us – and at the same time we also produce 100% grass-fed (and vine fed) lamb.
